Revoking a provisioned user

You can revoke a user who was previously provisioned using the Mail Onboarding Manager tool. After the user has been revoked, you can add the user to a subsequent transfer group if you need to provision the user at a later date.

About this task

Users who have been provisioned are listed on the Complete page. While they are listed there, you cannot add subscriptions or resubmit the user for provisioning using the onboarding tool. To remove the name from the Complete page, you revoke the user.

Before you can use the revoke feature in the onboarding tool, you first complete steps in SmartCloud Notes® Administration in the cloud. Depending on whether you want to remove only the SmartCloud Notes subscription and the associated data, or to delete a user's Connections Cloud account and all the assigned subscriptions, complete either Step 1 or Step 2.

Procedure

  1. To remove only the SmartCloud Notes subscription and data, but leave the Connections Cloud account active, complete these steps. If want to remove the user account and associated data, continue to Step 2.
    1. Remove the SmartCloud Notes subscription. This releases the subscription so that it can be assigned to another user.
    2. Remove the SmartCloud Notes data. This removes all traces of the account so that you can revoke the account and migrate the account again.
  2. To delete the Connections Cloud account and all associated subscriptions, complete these steps.
    1. Delete the user account. This is a soft delete. The account becomes inactive. However, it remains in the Trash view of the User Accounts page of SmartCloud Notes administration for 30 days unless you remove the data (Step c).
    2. Permanently delete the user account. This removes the account from the Trash view immediately. It releases all subscriptions associated with the account so that you can assign them to another user.
    3. Remove the SmartCloud Notes data from the account. This removes all traces of the account so that you can revoke the account and migrate the account again.
  3. Log in to the onboarding manager tool, and open the Complete page.
  4. Select the name of the user you want to revoke, and click the X.
