Reinitialize site preferences

Use the following procedure to reinitialize all of the application site preferences on the application server.

  1. Make a backup copy of the bootstrap.properties file.
    Note: If you have changed site preferences since the last application login, log in again before making the backup.
  2. If you wish to re-use the same object store and preferences name, rename or delete the preferences file in the object store's /Preferences folder using Enterprise Manager.
  3. Open the bootstrap.properties file in an editor. Delete the object store identifier (the line is ObjectStoreId =). Save the file. <install_location>/FileNet/Config/WebClient
  4. Log in as a user who is a member of the Application Engine Administrators group.
  5. Enter the values for bootstrap initialization. If you skipped step 2, do not use the previous object store and preferences name: change one or both. To run a FileNet® P8 Platform application, the user must have access to the object store containing the preferences file.
  6. Save your changes and close the browser window.
