Reorganizing IBM DB2 indexes and tables (DB2 for Linux, UNIX, and Windows only) If you have
upgraded the database to DB2 9.7,
consider running a REORG TABLE with the LONGLOBDATA option to take
advantage of the new LOB inlining feature (up to the descriptor size).
Compressing IBM DB2 database tables and indexes
In general, DB2 row and index compression reduces the amount
of disk space that is required by database tables and indexes by identifying
repetitive data.
