WebSphere ESB user-defined converters sample

The WebSphere ESB conversion tool provides built-in converters and placeholder converters to convert WebSphere ESB mediation primitives, export bindings and import bindings to IBM Integration Bus resources. A placeholder converter is used to convert WebSphere ESB mediation module resources other than the types for which IBM Integration Bus provides a built-in converter. If you do not want to use the built-in or placeholder converters, you can create your own user-defined converter that you can add to the WebSphere ESB conversion tool. You can create a user-defined converter for WebSphere ESB mediation primitives, export bindings, and import bindings.

You might want to extend the WebSphere ESB conversion tool in the following situations:

• You want to convert a mediation primitive for which the WebSphere ESB conversion tool does not provide a built-in converter class.
• You want to create a converter class that includes additional logic that is not in the built-in converter, to support automatic conversion of your WebSphere ESB resource.
• You want to convert a WebSphere ESB resource into an IBM Integration Bus resource that is different from the one created by the built-in converter class or placeholder class.
• You want to create conversion patterns within your organization.

You can set up the sample in one of the following ways:

• Import the sample

  This option imports the sample code files into your workspace ready for use in the WebSphere ESB conversion tool.

You can import a sample only when you use the information center that is integrated with the IBM Integration Toolkit.

Run the sample

When you have finished with the sample, you can remove it by deleting the imported resources.
