Coordinated Request Reply sample

The Coordinated Request Reply sample is a message flow sample application based on the scenario of two applications with different message formats that communicate with each other. One application has a message format of self-defining XML and the other uses Custom Wire Format (CWF) messages. The two applications communicate through the use of WebSphere MQ and JMS messages in a request/reply processing pattern. For the applications to communicate successfully, the message formats must be transformed on both the request and reply messages. An additional two applications demonstrate how to use the global cache to share data between two flows running in different integration servers

The Coordinated Request Reply sample has four applications and one library. The library has a reference to a message set and an Integration project, which are common to both applications. Applications and libraries introduce a way of creating and managing resources when you are developing and deploying applications, and during operational management.

The Coordinated Request Reply sample demonstrates how to store information for use by the Request and Reply flows by using a global cache or a store queue.

For more information about applications and libraries, see Applications and libraries in the IBM Integration Bus documentation.

For more information about using a global cache, see Global Cache overview in the IBM Integration Bus documentation.

The Coordinated Request Reply sample demonstrates the use of the following resources:

NOTE: In WebSphere Message Broker Version 8.0, IBM Integration Bus 9.0 and later, message model schema files contained in libraries are the preferred way to model messages for most data formats, including the new DFDL domain. Message sets continue to be supported, and are required if you use the MRM or IDOC domains. You can continue to import and deploy message sets for use in message flows. However, if you need to create one or more message sets, message definitions, or message categories when using this sample, you must first enable message set development in the IBM Integration Toolkit. For more information, see Enabling message set development in the IBM Integration Bus documentation.
