IEA043I   SVC DUMP REACHED MAXSPACE LIMIT - MAXSPACE=xxxxxxxx MEG

Explanation

The limit that an installation placed on the amount of storage available for SVC dump to hold captured dumps is reached.

In the message text:
xxxxxxxx
The amount of storage, in megabytes, specified on the MAXSPACE parameter of the CHNGDUMP operator command at the time the limit was reached.

System action

SVC dump ends the capture of the current dump. This dump is written out to a dump data set, but it is a partial dump. SVC dump will not allow other dumps to be captured until the amount of available space is greater than the threshold value. The threshold value is the lower of two values: 35 megabytes or ten percent of the MAXSPACE value. To view the amount of available space, use the DISPLAY DUMP command.

Operator response

Do one of the following:
  • If any dump is captured, but there are no available dump data sets, use the DUMPDS command or another utility to make dump data sets available.
  • If any dump is captured but not required by the installation, reply D to message IEA793A to delete the dumps.
  • Use the MAXSPACE parameter on the CHNGDUMP command to increase the value of MAXSPACE, allowing SVC dump processing to use more virtual storage to hold captured dumps.
