Explanation

An error occurred while attempting to create or initialize an address space. One of the following hexadecimal reason codes explain the error:
Code
Explanation
0004
Command processing received a nonzero return code from the virtual storage management (VSM). Register 5 contains the return code.
0008
Command processing requested virtual storage for a service request block (SRB). The request returned a nonzero return code. Register 5 contains the return code.
000C
Command processing received a nonzero return code from another command processing module. Register 5 contains the return code.
0010
An unexpected error occurred in a command processing module.

System action

The system:
  • Ends the START, MOUNT, or LOGON command
  • Deletes the partially created address space
  • Issues message IEA890I to identify which command was ended as a result of the failure

System programmer response

If the problem recurs, search problem reporting data bases for a fix for the problem. If no fix exists, contact the component group for command processing at the IBM® Support Center.
