To run a z/OS UNIX shell script that sets up an z/OS UNIX executable file and then runs the program, you give the appropriate mode authority for a user or group of users to run it. You can update the mode authority (access permission) for a shell script file by using the chmod command. See z/OS UNIX System Services Command Reference for the format and description of chmod. After mode authority is given, enter the script file name from the shell command line.
