How to query supported hardware and installed UIMs

Your z/OS system has several tables and modules that contain data about the general characteristics of processors, switches, control units, and devices in the system.

HCD uses this data to validate your configuration definition. You might want to look at it during the definition task; it helps you select the correct characteristics when you define your hardware units. You can also use the supported hardware report as a help when defining your configuration. See Supported Hardware Report for an example of a supported hardware report and I/O Definition Reference for an example of an I/O definition reference.

You can view the system data by selecting Query supported hardware and installed UIMs from the Primary Task Selection panel or the Query action from the action bar. Then select the subtask or pull-down choice that you want.
