What is the IBM WebSphere Cross Component Trace Logviewer ?
The IBM WebSphere Cross Component Trace Logviewer is an Eclipse based
tool that provides enhanced log file views for logs augmented with Cross Component Trace correlation log records.
Logs can be displayed in flat or hierarchical layouts, and multiple logs can be loaded and viewed simultaneously
with log entries related to each request conveniently grouped.
How does the tool work?
The following features are available with the IBM WebSphere Cross Component Trace Logviewer tool:
1) Show records in hierarchical or flattened view
To open one or more files, click on the Load Server Console or Log icon
Click the Select Records to Display icon and select how you want to view the records
2) Display the raw and translated view of the log message contents
Double click on the log message in the Server Logs view
You can select to view the raw or the translated contents in the Properties windows that is displayed
3) Filter the contents
Type a string in the input text box. Only the records that contain the specified string in the content will be displayed.
Click the Clear Filter icon to display all contents.
3) Sort columns by type, time, thread ID or contents
Select the Sort Column By option in the Server Logs view.
Select type, time, thread ID or contents, and specify if the order is ascending or descending.
