Setting up the Connect to DB2 Databases prerequisite activity for Sametime Gateway

Open the IBM® Sametime® System Console and start the Connect to DB2® Databases prerequisite activity.

Before you begin

Start the Sametime System Console if it is not already running.

About this task

In this activity, you connect the Sametime System Console to the DB2 database that you created for one of the following servers: Sametime Proxy Server, Advanced Server, Meeting Server, or Gateway server. You must complete this task before attempting to install a server using a deployment plan (not available for Gateway server), or before registering an independently installed server with the System Console. You can also use this guided activity to modify or delete existing database connections.

Procedure

Browse to the System Console and open Connect to DB2 Databases activity.

  1. From a browser, enter the following URL, replacing serverhostname.domain with the fully qualified domain name of the Sametime System Console server.

    http://serverhostname.domain:8700/ibm/console

    For example:

    http://sametime.example.com:8700/ibm/console

    IBM i: The port number may not be 8700. Use the port that was listed in the Sametime System Console installation results summary or use the setting specified for the Administrative console secure port in the AboutThisProfile.txt file. For the Sametime System Console Deployment Manager Profile (STSCDmgrProfile), the file is located in the following path:

    /QIBM/UserData/Websphere/AppServer/version_number/SametimeWAS/profiles/STSCDmgrProfile/logs/AboutThisProfile.txt

  2. Enter the WebSphere® Application Server user ID and password that you created when you installed the Sametime System Console.
  3. In the navigation tree, click the Sametime System Console task to open it.
  4. Click Sametime Prerequisites > Connect to DB2 Databases.
