IBM WebSphere Portal Version 8.5 and 9.0
Starting with CF13, combined cumulative fixes apply to both WebSphere Portal version 8.5 and 9.0. The WebSphere Portal documentation for Version 9.0 contains installation documentation and documentation on how to migrate your IBM® WebSphere Application Server. After you install Version 9, return to the Version 8.5 IBM Knowledge Center for information on how to configure and use WebSphere Portal.
Integration with IBM Watson Content Hub
The integration process between Watson Content Hub and WebSphere Portal can change because Watson Content Hub is frequently updated. Before you start or if you run into problems during the process, go to Integrating in the Watson Content Hub documentation for the latest information on changes to the process.
Performance improvements for IBM Web Content Manager
- Improved JCR query processing of large data sets
- Set the workflow.skipDefaultManagerAccess property to true in the WCM WCMConfigService service to disable automatic assignment of manager role when you create or edit Web Content Manager artifacts. This setting eliminates cache invalidations that are associated with this role assignment.
- Two new Portal Access Control parameters were added to clean up and avoid loading redundant access control data.
Rich Media Edition Server support
Support for IBM Rich Media Edition is removed effective with WebSphere Portal V8.5 CF14 and will not be supported in future releases. Go to Software withdrawal and support discontinuance: IBM Customer Experience Rich Media Edition and IBM Web Content Manager Rich Media Edition - Replacements available for information.
Web Application Bridge improvement
If you are on WebSphere Portal V8.5 CF13 or earlier or V9 CF13, configuring multiple web dock applications on a single portal page generates multiple subdomain URLs. Improvements to manage these events were added to CF14. Upgrade to the latest CF level to experience more efficient subdomain URL processing when you configure multiple web dock applications to portal pages.
