IBM TRIRIGA Application Platform Version 3.5.2

New features in IBM TRIRIGA Application Platform version 3.5.2

IBM® TRIRIGA® Application Platform version 3.5.2 supports IBM TRIRIGA and includes calculation extensions required by the lease accounting standards and provides a new JavaScript based DHTML component version of the TRIRIGA availability functionality. In addition, there are enhancements to the JavaScript based DHTML component version of the GANTT functionality provided in the previous release. There are also additional platform enhancements, which improve the ability for tracking application configurations, including object labeling, versioning, comparison, and snapshots on core metadata. This release also delivers support for Content Management Interoperability Services (CMIS), providing integration between the IBM TRIRIGA document manager and enterprise content management implementations that support CMIS, such as IBM FileNet.

Specific enhancements include:

Ability to view a summary of all permissions for each group in Security Manager

In the Security Manager, you can view all permissions of a group in one interface. The Access tab for each group contains an Access Summary subtab, which displays all permissions. The permissions summary can be exported to a tab-delimited text file.

Changes to the Object Migration tool

Create Full Metadata Package export option
You can create an export package that contains all objects from the entire system, except for most record data. The record data for Classifications is included in the package; however, any record data that is associated to the classifications is not included. This menu replaces the Full Package option of earlier versions.
Workflow tasks are compared
Comparison reports for workflows now indicate if Workflow tasks are the same or different between an import package and the target TRIRIGA environment. Details on differences are not reported. In previous versions of TRIRIGA, the compare reports if differences exist in a workflow's header properties but not the tasks themselves.

For a detailed analysis of Workflow tasks, you can continue to use the Text Export Selected action in the Objects panel of the Object Migration tool.

Group overrides are exported and imported with their associated navigation collections
In previous versions, group overrides are exported and imported with security groups. Group overrides that were exported with security groups in older OM packages can still be imported.

Revisioning enhancements

More objects are revisioned
In addition to the revisioning capabilities that were implemented in the previous version for the high-level objects, business objects, forms, modules, queries, and UX metadata, the following objects are also revisioned:
  • Navigation collections, navigation items, portals, portal sections, and security groups.

You can view a list of revisions for an object in its respective builder.

Ability to compare object revisions
In addition to the ability to compare revisions of high-level objects such as business objects, modules, forms, or queries in their respective builders, more objects can now be compared.
  • In the Navigation Builder, you can compare two revisions of a navigation collection. You can compare two revisions of a navigation item as well.
  • In the Portal Builder, you can compare two revisions of a portal. You can compare two revisions of a portal section as well.
  • In the Security Manager, you can compare two snapshot versions of a security group.
Ability to compare objects with different names
  • In the Data Modeler, you can compare two modules with different names, for example, cstSpaceAllocation and triSpaceAllocation. You can compare two business objects with different names as well.
  • In the Form Builder, you can compare two forms with different names, for example, cstBuilding and triBuilding.
  • In the Navigation Builder, you can compare two navigation collections with different names. You can compare two navigation items with different names as well.
  • In the Portal Builder, you can compare two portals with different names. You can compare two portal sections items with different names as well.
  • In the Security Manager, you can compare two groups with different names.

Object labeling enhancements

Object Labeling is a process that applies identifiers that are called object labels to the properties of objects and object revisions. The process helps to manage the changes that are made to objects in the IBM TRIRIGA applications, including changes that you make and changes that IBM makes in updated releases of the IBM TRIRIGA applications.

More objects are labeled
In addition to the high-level objects, business objects, forms, modules, queries, and UX metadata that are labeled in the previous version, the following objects are also labeled:
  • Navigation collections, navigation items, portals, portal sections, and security groups.
Search and filter capabilities on Labeled Objects tab in Object Label Manager
On the Labeled Objects tab of each object label definition, you can search and filter for specific objects that are associated with an object label.
Object labels change to in progress only if actual changes are made to the objects
If you save or publish an object without modifying any of its fields or properties, a new revision is created but the object label remains unchanged. In the previous version, the object label is changed with a save or publish even without modifications. This change does not apply to UX metadata, security groups, or OM Import.
New names for actions on Labeled Objects tab
In Object Label Manager, the names of the actions on the Labeled Objects tab of each object label are changed. Export is renamed to Export Object List. Comparison Report is renamed to Export Object Changes.
Ability to export object list report for multiple object labels
On the Object Label Manager landing page, you can export a list of objects that are associated with multiple object labels at the same time by selecting the action, Export Object List From Selected. In the previous version, you can export an object list for only one object label at a time.
Ability to export list of object changes for multiple object labels
On the Object Label Manager landing page, you can export a list of object changes from multiple object labels at the same time by selecting the action, Export Object Changes From Selected.

You can also export a list of all object changes that you made, no matter the object label, by selecting Export All Custom Changes. In the previous version, you can export an object change list for only one object label at a time.

Labeled Objects tab contains all objects that ever had an object label
In Object Label Manager, the list of objects on the Labeled Objects tab contains not only objects that currently have the object label but also objects that previously had the object label. A new column, Current Object Label, indicates the Object Label that is currently applied to the object.

This list is different from the Object Finder search results in the Object Migration tool when you search for all objects that contain a particular object label. When you select the object label for the Object Label search parameter in the OM tool, only the objects that currently have the object label are in the search results.

UX metadata is compared and is included in object changes report for object label
In Object Label Manager, UX metadata is included in the object changes report for an object label when you click Export Object Changes on the Labeled Objects tab.

Files that are attached to the Web View File metadata, such as HTML and CSS files, are included in comparison reports. Specifically, the reports indicate whether the content files are the same or different. Details on differences are not reported. When the report indicates No Differences on Web View Files, it means that all properties and any attached content files are the same. You can compare content file versions by using an HTML diff tool.

For information on how to work with the object labels, see Object Labels and Revisions on the IBM TRIRIGA wiki.

Changes to the UX designers

View list of all snapshots
Each UX metadata record in the UX designers contains a Snapshots tab that lists all snapshots of that UX metadata record. The current snapshot version of a UX metadata record is displayed on the Snapshots tab and the System tab.
Ability to compare two snapshot versions of UX metadata
In the UX designers, you can compare two snapshots of a UX metadata record and view their differences.
Ability to compare two different UX metadata records
In the UX designers, you can compare the current data of two different UX metadata records.
Compare of Web View Files reports if changes exist in content files
Files that are attached to the Web View File metadata, such as HTML and CSS files, are included in comparison reports. Specifically, the reports indicate whether the content files are the same or different. Details on differences are not reported. When the report indicates No Differences on Web View Files, it means that all properties and any attached content files are the same. You can compare content file versions by using an HTML diff tool.

Graphics

Graphic reports, label styles, and themes now support security groups.
