Installing a plug-in for OAT

Install a plug-in for the IBM® OpenAdmin Tool (OAT) for Informix®.

The installation package for OAT includes the IBM Informix Replication Plug-in for OpenAdmin Tool (OAT), the IBM Informix Schema Manager Plug-in for OpenAdmin Tool (OAT), and the IBM Informix TimeSeries Plug-in for OpenAdmin Tool (OAT). These plug-ins are installed automatically with OAT and can be enabled during installation.

Important: The plug-in compressed file is deleted when the plug-in is installed. After the plug-in is uninstalled, it cannot be reinstalled until the plug-in compressed file is restored to the plug-in directory.

To install a plug-in for OAT:

  1. Copy the compressed plug-in file to the OATDirectory/plugin_install. For example: C:\Program Files\OpenAdmin\Apache_2.2.16\htdocs\openadmin\plugin_install.
  2. On the OAT Login page or on the OAT menu, click Admin.
  3. On the Admin menu, click Plug-in Manager.
  4. In the Plug-ins Not Yet Installed list, in the row that contains the plug-in, click Install.

    The plug-in is displayed in the Installed Plug-ins list and enabled by default. The plug-in menu item is displayed on the OAT menu. To change the position of the plug-in menu item on the OAT menu, go to the Menu Manager page.
