Installing the Tivoli Storage Manager backup-archive clients (UNIX, Linux, and Windows)

The IBM® Tivoli® Storage Manager backup-archive client helps you protect information on your workstations.

You can maintain backup versions of your files that you can restore if the original files are damaged or lost. You can also archive infrequently used files, preserve them in their current state, and retrieve them when necessary.

The backup-archive client works in conjunction with the Tivoli Storage Manager server. Contact your Tivoli Storage Manager server administrator to obtain backup or archive access to the server, or refer to the server publications to install and configure a Tivoli Storage Manager server.
