Backing up Automated System Recovery files

You can back up Automated System Recovery (ASR) files in preparation for recovering the Windows disk configuration information and system state in case a catastrophic system or hardware failure occurs.

About this task

The Tivoli® Storage Manager backup-archive client backs up ASR data when the backup-archive client backs up the Windows system state.

Procedure

To back up ASR files on Windows operating systems, use the backup systemstate command.

Results

Tivoli Storage Manager generates the ASR files in the \adsm.sys\ASR staging directory on the system drive of your local workstation and stores these files in the ASR file space on the Tivoli Storage Manager server.
