If the problem continues, examine the output of the shell command ps -aef as well as the contents of /etc/adsm/SpaceMan/config/dmiFSGlobalState.pid. If a pid is stored in this file and it does correspond to a running process, remove the dmiFSGlobalState.pid file and retry the operation. If the problem persists, reboot the system and repeat the appropriate analysis for your file system type.
