Examples of why this can occur include, but are not limited to: the data being read is outside the valid range of the volume, or the device is locked by another application. The operating system error code shown in the message indicates the specific reason for the failure.
If server-free data movement is used, processing continues using non-server-free data movement. Otherwise processing stops.
Use your operating system's tools to obtain the description of the error code. Also check the error log for any other messages that might indicate a reason for the failure. Try to correct any indicated problems, then try the operation again. If the problem persists, contact IBM® technical support for further assistance.
