HTASK Resource Table

This CICSPlex® SM resource provides information about a completed task; that is, a task that previously ran in a system managed by CICSPlex SM, but has now been completed. While a task is active, information can be obtained about the task by the TASK resource. After the task completes, information can be obtained by the HTASK resource, provided that CICSPlex SM history recording was activated for the task.

The Primary key field for this resource class is TIME, which represents the time when the task was completed in the form of an 8-byte store clock (STCK) value. This task completion STCK is always in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). UTC is a universal time standard that is Greenwich mean time (GMT) without any adjustment for leap seconds. In the following discussion of parameters, all times are UTC, and, when considering UTC completion times near to midnight, note that UTC affects the date as well.

The following parameters are supported for the GET operation:
  • STARTDATE(mm/dd/yyyy)
  • STARTTIME(hh:mm:ss)
  • ENDDATE(mm/dd/yyyy)
  • ENDTIME(hh:mm:ss)
  • INTERVAL(value)
  • RECENT(value)
  • If you use the RECENT parameter, you must not specify any other parameters.
  • If you use the INTERVAL parameter, you must not specify the ENDDATE and ENDTIME parameters.

This resource class has no object-specific actions.

Note: The transaction number attribute (TASK) is normally a 4-byte packed decimal number. However, some CICS system tasks are identified by transaction numbers that comprise special characters, as follows:
  • ' III' for system initialization task
  • ' TCP' for terminal control.
These special identifiers are placed in bytes 2 through 4. Byte 1 is a blank (X'40') before the terminal control TCP identifier, and a null value (X'00') before the others. Because the TASK attribute is expected to contain a packed decimal value, it is not possible to specify the special values TASK=' III' or TASK=' TCP' in a filter. If you need to retrieve task history data for these tasks, you must use another attribute in your filter string, for example, TRANID='CSTP'.
