Installing the CICS SDK for web and JSP

If you did not install the CICS® SDK for web and JSP when you installed CICS Explorer®, you can add this feature to your CICS Explorer installation.

About this task

The CICS SDK for web and JSP provides support to develop web applications that can run in a Liberty profile server in CICS TS for z/OS®, Version 5.1 or later. With CICS TS for z/OS, Version 5.3 or later, this SDK includes a subset of the WebSphere Developer Tools, to support Liberty application development and enable export of OSGi application projects in EBA format.

When you add the CICS SDK for web and JSP feature, you must use the same method (Installation Manager or Eclipse p2) that you used to install CICS Explorer originally. If you installed CICS Explorer by downloading a compressed file, use the Eclipse p2 update method.

Procedure

Use Installation Manager to add the SDK.
1. Open Installation Manager.
2. Select Modify and choose the package group that you used for CICS Explorer.
3. Select the IBM® CICS SDK for web and JSP feature, then follow the prompts to complete the installation.
Use an Eclipse p2 update site to add the SDK.
1. Start Eclipse and click Help > Install new software from the main menu.
2. In the Work with field, select IBM Explorer for z/OS Update Site - http://public.dhe.ibm.com/ibmdl/export/pub/software/htp/zos/tools/aqua/.
3. In the list of software, expand IBM CICS Explorer, then select IBM CICS SDK for Servlet and JSP support.
4. Click Next and follow the prompts to complete the installation.
