Enabling the manual pages

Manual pages are provided for the compiler invocation commands and other compiler utilities.

Before you can view the manual pages, you must add the manual page directory to the MANPATH environment variable by entering the following command:

export MANPATH=$MANPATH:/opt/IBM/xlC/13.1.0/man/LANG

where LANG might be any of the following language locales:

For example, to set the language of the manual pages to English, run the commands:

MANPATH=$MANPATH:/opt/IBM/xlC/13.1.0/man/en_US
export MANPATH

Alternatively, to set the language of the manual pages to one of the other supported languages, run the command:

MANPATH=$MANPATH:/opt/IBM/xlC/13.1.0/man/$LANG
export MANPATH

where $LANG is set to any of the language locales listed above.

To test whether the manual pages have been successfully installed, open one or more of the manual pages, as described in Viewing the manual pages.
