- New method improves connection to multipleDB2 Content Manager repositories
- A new robust and streamlined approach enables a single instance
of IBM® Records Manager to connect to multiple DB2 Content Manager repositories. A multiple-repository
system increases content data capacity and facilitates the management
of content across multiple organizations. To add repositories, you
now install one instance of Content Manager Records Enabler for each DB2 Content Manager repository, identifying
each repository as a host server within IBM Records Manager.
- Non-root and non-DBA users can install components
- You no longer need root or data base administrator (DBA) authority
to install Content Manager Records Enabler components.
- Users can declare records that supersede existing records
- From the Client for Windows, you can declare a record as a new
version of an existing record. The new record supersedes the previous
version of the record.
- Default attribute mappings synchronize metadata
- You can create default mappings to synchronize metadata between IBM Records Manager and DB2 Content Manager Enterprise Edition. By default,
each DB2 Content Manager attribute is mapped
to the IBM Records Manager attribute with the
same name.
- Client users can search for records in IBM Records Manager
- You can now run searches in IBM Records Manager by using the eClient and Client for Windows.
- Support for WebSphere Application Server 7 added
- Content Manager Records Enabler now supports WebSphere Application Server 7.
- Content Manager Records Enabler installer automatically
detects location of WebSphere Application Server
- The Content Manager Records Enabler installer tries
to automatically detect the location of WebSphere Application Server on your server. If the installer
cannot detect the location of WebSphere Application Server on the server, you can now specify the location of your WebSphere Application Server installation when you run the Content Manager Records Enabler installation wizard.
