Configuring IBM Business Monitor to work with IBM Business Process Manager

To configure IBM® Business Monitor to work with IBM Business Process Manager (BPM) and use the same monitor models that you used in the past, you must configure IBM Business Monitor to accept Common Event Infrastructure (CEI) events from IBM BPM. You must also run a set of commands.

Before you begin

To configure IBM Business Monitor V8.5.7 to work with remote CEI from a release of IBM BPM or WebSphere® Process Server earlier than V8.6.0, you must install interim fix JR49490 on your earlier release of IBM BPM or WebSphere Process Server if you have the following versions:

Procedure

  1. Configure CEI in the IBM BPM environment because it is not configured by default in IBM BPM V8.6.0. For instructions, see Configuring Common Event Infrastructure (deprecated).
  2. Configure CEI event delivery between IBM BPM and the IBM Business Monitor cell. See Configuring Business Monitor to receive events from IBM BPM V8.5.0 and earlier
  3. Add an event source for each migrated monitor model. For instructions, see Change event sources.
  4. Change the event consumption mode for each migrated monitor model to be in active state. By default, the models are in inactive state after migration. For instructions, see Changing the event consumption mode for a monitor model version.
  5. If you use clones of the MONITOR, IBM Cognos® BI, and Business Space databases, and point to those clones when you configure IBM Business Monitor V8.5.7 environment, then, after migration, delete the IBM Cognos BI WBMONITOR_DB data source using the Cognos Administration web console. Then, publish the cubes for the monitor model, which will create the data source and publish the cubes at the same time. For instructions for deleting the data source and republishing the cube package, see Configuring the reporting data source in IBM Cognos BI.
