Migrating IBM Integration Designer artifacts

You can migrate artifacts from previous versions of Integration Designer or WebSphere® Integration Developer to IBM® Integration Designer V8.5.7. Migrating to IBM Integration Designer V8.5.7 preserves the basic structure of your existing applications with minimal required reconfiguration.

About this task

If you migrate the target runtime environment to IBM Business Process Manager V8.5.7, you can run the applications that you previously deployed, even if you do not migrate Integration Designer or WebSphere Integration Developer. However, if you want to edit the applications, you must also migrate Integration Designer or WebSphere Integration Developer to a compatible version so the major versions of the two products match.

Instead of migrating the source artifacts individually, you can import your existing workspace by selecting the directory where your workspace is located when IBM Integration Designer is launched. See Considerations for the IBM Integration Designer migration process before you import your existing workspace.

The WebSphere InterChange Migration wizard and the WebSphere Business Integration Server Foundation Migration wizard were removed from IBM Integration Designer V8.5.7. If you have applications that you created that use IBM WebSphere Adapters, you cannot migrate the applications directly to V8.5.7. You must migrate them using another version of Integration Designer V8.5.x and then upgrade to V8.5.7.
