Migrating artifacts from IBM BPM Standard or IBM BPM Express V8.0.x or V7.5.x

You can migrate artifacts from a previous version of IBM® Business Process Manager Standard or IBM Business Process Manager Express to IBM Business Process Manager V8.5.6.

About this task

The following product, version, and release level combinations are supported as sources for migrating your business data and applications to IBM Business Process Manager V8.5.6.

To migrate artifacts, complete the following tasks:

  1. Installing IBM Business Process Manager for artifact migration
    Before you begin artifact migration, install and configure IBM Business Process Manager V8.5.6 on a different computer, or in a different directory on the same computer as your previous version.
  2. Exporting existing assets from your current version
    Export existing assets from the Process Center Console.
  3. Itemizing customizations
    Before you migrate, make a list of any customizations you made to your existing installations and ensure that you have a backup copy of your customized files.
  4. Applying customizations
    Compare your customized files from the backups of your existing installations with the corresponding files in the new IBM Business Process Manager V8.5.6 installations to ensure that all of your settings are correctly applied to the new installations.
  5. Importing existing assets into IBM Business Process Manager V8.5.6
    Import assets into IBM Business Process Manager V8.5.6 using the Process Center Console.
  6. Verifying implementations
    Use the Designer view in IBM Process Designer to verify implementations.
