Removing profiles using the manageprofiles command-line utility

You can delete a profile from the command line using the manageprofiles command-line utility.

Before you begin

Procedure

  1. Open a command prompt and run one of the following commands, based on your operating system:
    • For Linux operating systemFor UNIX operating systemmanageprofiles.sh -delete -profileName profile_name
    • For Windows operating systemmanageprofiles.bat -delete -profileName profile_name

    The variable profile_name represents the name of the profile that you want to delete.

  2. Confirm that the profile deletion has completed by checking the following log file:
    • For Linux operating systemFor UNIX operating systeminstall_root/logs/manageprofiles/profile_name_delete.log
    • For Windows operating systeminstall_root\logs\manageprofiles\profile_name_delete.log

What to do next

If you plan to re-create a deleted profile using both the same profile name and the same database names that are associated with the deleted profile, you must manually delete the associated database names before you attempt to re-create the profile name and the database names.
