When a IBM® Business
Process Manager Application Pattern pattern
is deployed in a private cloud, the components in the patterns become
running virtual machines in the resulting virtual application instance.
You view and administer the virtual machines in a virtual application
instance of your IBM BPM environment.
About this task
Virtual machines are created and started when a virtual application
instance is provisioned. You run some virtual application instance
management tasks on the virtual application instance itself. You run
other tasks to manage the virtual application instance on the virtual
machines and endpoints in the virtual application instance. With a
specific virtual application instance selected in the
Virtual
Application Instances window, the following views show
the endpoints and virtual machines to manage them:
- Middleware perspective
- Virtual machine perspective
Clicking the linked name of a virtual machine from either view
opens the
Virtual Machines window for that virtual
machine. Clicking
Log from either view opens
the log viewer for that virtual machine.
Procedure
Complete the following IBM BPM tasks
from either the Middleware perspective section
or the Virtual machine perspective section
of the Virtual Application Instances window.
- View the processor and the memory that a virtual machine
is using. Click the linked name of a virtual machine to
open the Virtual Machines window for that virtual
machine. The Virtual Machines window shows the
details about the virtual machine you selected.
- Start a virtual machine from the Virtual machine
perspective.
- Click View under the Action column
in the row of the virtual machine you want to start.
- Click the Start icon (
).
When the virtual machine is started, the virtual machine operating
system is functional.
- Stop a running virtual machine from the Virtual
machine perspective.
- Click View under the Action column
in the row of the virtual machine you want to stop.
- Click the Stop icon (
).
- Configure a virtual machine from the Virtual
machine perspective.
- Click View under the Action column
in the row of the virtual machine you want to configure.
- Click the Configure icon (
) to configure
the processor storage and memory for the virtual machine.
- Locate configuration information to connect IBM BPM components
from the Middleware perspective. Click Endpoint for
the virtual machine you want to see configuration information. If you want to connect to an IBM Process
Center in
a virtual application instance, for example, you can see the Process Center IP
address by clicking Endpoint.
