To access the content in an IBM® Content
Manager OnDemand repository, you must first
connect to at least one repository and configure it to use IBM Content
Navigator as a web client. After
you connect to and configure the repository, you must associate a
desktop so that users can access the content.
Before you begin
Before you can connect to an
IBM Content
Manager OnDemand repository, you must configure
the application-level settings for
IBM Content
Manager OnDemand. The settings can be configured
under
Content Manager OnDemand.
All
of the IBM Content
Manager OnDemand repositories
that are configured for a single instance of IBM Content
Navigator share the same instance
of the Content Manager OnDemand Web Enablement Kit (ODWEK).
Before you configure
the application-level settings for IBM Content
Manager OnDemand, review the information
in Planning for IBM Content Manager OnDemand.
Important: If
ODWEK is
not installed in the default directory, you must add the following
custom property to your application-level
IBM Content
Manager OnDemand settings:
- For the custom property name, enter ODWEK_INSTALL_DIR
- For the custom property value, specify the fully qualified path
of your Content Manager OnDemand Web Enablement Kit installation.
For example, enter C:\Program Files\ODWEK\V9.0.
You must provide the database type, ID, server name,
and port number to connect to a repository. If you do not have this
information, contact your IBM Content
Manager OnDemand administrator.
Additionally, if you enable SSL for the repository, you must provide
the locations of the keyring database file and the keyring stash file.
About this task
The types of repositories that you connect
to depend on the repository connectors that are installed and configured
on your web application server. If the IBM Content
Navigator web application is not
configured to support IBM Content
Manager OnDemand,
you cannot configure connections to IBM Content
Manager OnDemand repositories.
Restriction: When you configure an IBM Content
Manager OnDemand repository, you can specify
the maximum number of search results that are returned to avoid performance
issues. However, the limit that you specify might not be honored if
the value that is set in the IBM Content
Manager OnDemand folder
definition is lower than the limit specified in the Search page.
The actual maximum search results limit that is returned is the lowest
search results value that is configured in either the folder definition
or the repository Search page.
