Updating the Process Engine client connector files (FileNet P8)

If you plan to use IBM® FileNet® P8 workflows in IBM Content Navigator, the version of the Process Engine client connector files on the IBM Content Navigator server must match the version of the client connector files on your Process Engine server.

Before you begin

Important: If you are running IBM FileNet P8, Version 5.2 or later, you can skip this task. You can update the Content Platform Engine client connector files when you run the IBM Content Navigator Configuration and Deployment Tool.

The IBM Content Navigator installation program installs a version of the Process Engine client connector files on the IBM Content Navigator server.

If the version of the files that is installed with IBM Content Navigator matches the version of the files on your Process Engine server, you do not need to update the client connector files. You can configure and deploy the web application.
If the version of the files that is installed with IBM Content Navigator does not match the version of the files on your Process Engine server, you must:
- Verify that you are running a supported version of Process Engine. For more information, see Prerequisites for installing IBM Content Navigator.
- Update the the Process Engine client installation program on the IBM Content Navigator server.

Tip: You can use the IBM Content Navigator Ping page to determine which version of the Process Engine client connector files are installed with IBM Content Navigator. For more information, see Finding IBM Content Navigator version information.

About this task

The Process Engine client software enables communication between IBM Content Navigator and the Process Engine. You must install the Process Engine client connector files on all of your IBM Content Navigator servers.
