Before you install the IBM® Content
Navigator software, you must complete
several prerequisite tasks to prepare your environment for IBM Content
Navigator.
Before you begin
The tasks in this section assume that you installed the
prerequisite software in your content management environment and on
the IBM Content
Navigator server.
The
following software must be installed and configured on the
IBM Content
Navigator server:
- A supported web application server
- Content Manager OnDemand Web Enablement Kit (ODWEK), if you plan to connect
to IBM Content
Manager OnDemand repositories
The following software must be installed and configured
in your content management environment:
- A supported content management server
- A supported database server

About this task
The prerequisite tasks that you must complete vary depending
on the following factors:
- Which repository or repositories you plan to connect to from the IBM Content
Navigator web client
- Which web application server you plan to deploy IBM Content
Navigator to
To prepare your environment for
IBM Content
Navigator:
- Create a database where you will store IBM Content
Navigator configuration data,
if you do not have an existing database or if you want to store IBM Content
Navigator data in a separate database.
- Copy the JDBC drivers for your database to the IBM Content
Navigator server and add the class
path of your JDBC driver to your web application server.
- WebSphere® Application
Server and FileNet® P8 users only: Export the
LTPA keys from your Content Engine server
and save them to the IBM Content
Navigator server.
Complete the appropriate tasks for your environment:
