About this task
Each web application is stored as a configuration profile.
After you create a configuration profile, you can reuse the profile
or update it if you change your environment. For example, you might
need to update your configuration profile if you:
- Want to update any of the settings for your web application
- Want to rebuild or redeploy the web application
- Want to configure the web application to work with additional
repository types
- Install a new version of Content Manager, Content Engine, or Process
Engine
When you create a configuration profile, you specify information
about:
- The type of web application server that you plan to deploy IBM Content
Navigator to
- The types of repositories that you plan to use the deployed web
application to connect to
The configuration tasks that you must complete depend on the
web application server and the types of repositories that you want
to connect to from the
IBM Content
Navigator web
client.
Tip: If the IBM Content
Navigator Configuration and Deployment
Tool is separated from your web application server by a wide area
network (WAN), there might be a delay when populating information
about your web application server in the tool. You can minimize this
delay by running the tool on the same local area network (LAN) as
the web application server.
