Completing post-configuration tasks

After you successfully deploy IBM® Content Navigator to your web application server, you must complete several tasks before you can access the deployed web application.

  1. Starting the end user help system for IBM Content Navigator
    The end user help for the IBM Content Navigator web client is hosted in a locally installed version of IBM Knowledge Center. You must start IBM Knowledge Center before users can access the end user help.
  2. Updating your web application server for IBM Content Navigator components
    After you configure and deploy your web application, you must update your web application server to ensure that the web client can function with your repositories and with your web application server.
  3. Running the script to configure your database for IBM Content Navigator
    Information about your IBM Content Navigator web application is stored in a database. After you install IBM Content Navigator, you use the IBM Content Navigator Configuration and Deployment Tool to update the sample script for your database environment. Then, you run the script on your database to configure the database for IBM Content Navigator.
  4. Mapping IBM Content Navigator components to IBM HTTP Server
    If you deploy IBM Content Navigator or an IBM Content Navigator component on WebSphere® Application Server, you should map the components of the deployed application to IBM HTTP Server.
  5. Verifying your IBM Content Navigator deployment
    Before you administer the IBM Content Navigator web client, you must verify that IBM Content Navigator was successfully deployed to your web application server.
  6. Verifying your IBM CMIS deployment
    Before you use the IBM CMIS services to access your repository, you must verify that your IBM CMIS web application was successfully deployed to your web application server.
  7. Verifying your IBM FileNet Collaboration Services deployment
    Before you use IBM FileNet Collaboration Services to enable IBM Connections users to store content on IBM FileNet P8, you must verify that your IBM FileNet Collaboration Services web application was successfully deployed to your web application server.
