Monitor the system without using SNMP
With IBM Spectrum Protect™ Version 8.1, the simple network management protocol (SNMP) is no longer available for communications with an SNMP Distributed Protocol Interface (DPI) subagent. You cannot configure the SNMP heartbeat monitor or log events to an SNMP event receiver.
The preferred method of monitoring system operations is to use the Operations Center. You can view system status in the Operations Center user interface or configure email reports to track specific items.
