Software upgrade for the server database manager
IBM Spectrum Protect™ Version 8.1 is installed with V11.1 of the IBM® DB2® database software. The DB2 technology provides management functions for the server database. The previous IBM Spectrum Protect server release was packaged with a DB2 V10.5 database.
You can upgrade V6.3 and V7 servers directly to V8.1. Upgrades from other versions to V8.1 are not supported.
