Requirements for installing into an existing Eclipse workbench

If you choose to install IBM WebSphere Application Server Developer Tools for Eclipse into an Eclipse workbench that is already installed on your computer, then your Eclipse workbench must be one of the supported versions of Eclipse IDE for Java™ EE Developers. The runtime environment for Java (JRE) requirements for Eclipse IDE for Java EE Developers must be one of the following versions:

IBM Runtime Environment for Windows or Linux®, Java Technology Edition, Version 8.0 SR 1, or later.
Oracle Java Platform Standard Edition Runtime Environment Version 8.0 latest update available.
