Searching for special characters

Special characters, such as common punctuation characters, are indexed as part of a text update. You can search for special characters the same way as you search for other query terms.

To find a special character in a document, include the special character in the query expression. In some cases, you might have to escape special characters.

You cannot search for an exact match on two consecutive, identical special characters. Queries of this type return documents that contain only one of the special characters.
