DB2 Version 10.1 for Linux, UNIX, and Windows

-flushbp parameter of the db2pdcfg command has been deprecated

The -flushbp parameter of the db2pdcfg command has been deprecated and might be removed in a future release.

Details

You must use the -flushbp of the db2pdcfg command only when instructed by IBM service.

In Version 10.1, the FLUSH BUFFERPOOLS statement writes the dirty pages from all the local buffer pools for a particular database synchronously to disk.

You can use the FLUSH BUFFERPOOLS statement to reduce the recovery window of a database in the event of a failure, or before database operations such as online backups. Also, to minimize the recovery time of the split-mirror database.

Resolution

Use the FLUSH BUFFERPOOLS statement instead.
