DB2 Version 10.1 for Linux, UNIX, and Windows

DB2 pureScale Feature support added for AIX servers on RoCE networks

Support for IBM® DB2® pureScale® Feature on AIX® servers interconnected with a Remote Direct Memory Access (RDMA) over Converged Ethernet (RoCE) network has been added in DB2 for Linux, UNIX, and Windows Version 10.1.

Remote Direct Memory Access (RDMA) is required for cluster caching facilities and members to communicate over a high-speed, low latency cluster interconnect network. In previous releases of DB2 for Linux, UNIX, and Windows, support for DB2 pureScale Feature with an RDMA over Converged Ethernet (RoCE) cluster interconnect network was limited to Linux servers.

Support for RoCE cluster interconnect networks provides more choice for system architects deploying a DB2 pureScale Feature solution. By using existing Ethernet network infrastructure you can help reduce deployment costs, as you do not have to adopt a new network medium.
