Explanation

The MERGECOPY starting point is the most recent full image copy for the entire table space.

A full image copy of the associated table space should be taken. However, if it is preferred that a recovery be done on the data set level, a MERGECOPY job should be submitted by specifying 'DSNUM(data set number)' for each data set for which MERGECOPY is required.
