System action

The RECOVER utility ignores the SYSCOPY record and looks for and chooses a subsequent image copy as a recover base. The RECOVER utility looks for a local primary or local backup before looking for an older image copy. Sometimes no previous image copies can be used for the recovery. In this case a DSNU510I message is issued with a return code of 8.

User response

Request HSM to recall the data set, and resubmit the RECOVER utility.
