Subsystem parameters and application defaults in a data sharing environment

In a data sharing environment, you must consider the scope of subsystem parameters before setting the values for each member. Also consider the subsystem parameter load module and the application defaults load module that you will specify for each member.

Specifying a member's subsystem parameter load module
Every member of a data sharing group must have its own unique load module for subsystem parameters (sometimes called DSNZPARM in a non-data sharing environment).
The scope and uniqueness of DB2 subsystem parameters in data sharing
Although various parameters affect the operation of only a single member, some parameters must have the same value on all the members. For example, each catalog alias name must be the same. Other parameter values must be different on each member. For example, each member specifies a different BSDS name.
Updating subsystem parameters for a member
No group-wide subsystem parameters can be updated; however, you can update the subsystem parameters for an individual member.
Application defaults parameters
An application defaults load module, dsnhdecp, is generated as part of installing or migrating DB2®. In a data sharing environment, this module is generated only for the first member that is installed or migrated.
