Updating the WebSphere security extension by using Installation Manager GUI mode

You can update the Jazz™ for Service Management extension for IBM® WebSphere® to Version 1.1.0.2 by using Installation Manager GUI mode. Choose the Installation Manager silent mode, if your target machine does not have a browser or a graphical environment.

Before you begin

You must have an existing version of the Jazz for Service Management extension for IBM WebSphere WAS_version_number installed in WebSphere Application Server installation location, for example, Jazz for Service Management extension for IBM WebSphere 8.5 Version 1.1.

You must update the security extension on each Jazz for Service Management application server in your Jazz for Service Management environment.

Procedure

  1. Repeat this procedure on each machine on which the following integration services are installed:
    • Administration Services Version 1.1, IBM Dashboard Application Services Hub Version 3.1, Registry Services Version 1.1, Security Services Version 1.1. and Tivoli® Common Reporting Version 3.1
    • Administration Services Version 1.1.0.1, IBM Dashboard Application Services Hub Version 3.1.0.1, Registry Services Version 1.1.0.1, and Security Services Version 1.1.0.1. and Tivoli Common Reporting Version 3.1.0.1
    • Administration Services Version 1.1.0.2, IBM Dashboard Application Services Hub Version 3.1.0.2, Registry Services Version 1.1.0.2, and Security Services Version 1.1.0.2. and Tivoli Common Reporting Version 3.1.0.2
    • Administration Services Version 1.1.1, IBM Dashboard Application Services Hub Version 3.1.1, Registry Services Version 1.1.1, Security Services Version 1.1.1 and Tivoli Common Reporting Version 3.1.1
    • Administration Services Version 1.1.2, IBM Dashboard Application Services Hub Version 3.1.2, Registry Services Version 1.1.2, Reporting Services 3.1.2, and Security Services Version 1.1.2
    • Administration Services Version 1.1.2.1, IBM Dashboard Application Services Hub Version 3.1.2.1, Registry Services Version 1.1.2.1, Reporting Services 3.1.2.1, and Security Services Version 1.1.2.1
  2. Start Installation Manager in GUI mode. Table 1 summarizes the locations from which to run Installation Manager in GUI mode depending on your operating system and user type.

    Browse to the C:\Program Files (x86)\IBM\Installation Manager\eclipse directory and double-click IBMIM.

    Browse to the C:\Users\user_name\IBM\Installation Manager\eclipse directory and double-click IBMIM.

    UNIX

    In a command window, open the /opt/IBM/InstallationManager/eclipse directory and run ./IBMIM.

    In a command window, open the /user_home_directory/IBM/InstallationManager/eclipse directory and run ./IBMIM.

  3. Set up the fix pack repository preference.
    1. Select File > Preferences.
    2. In the Preferences > Repositories panel, click Add Repository.
    3. Click Browse and browse to the following location and file: JazzSM_Image_Home/JazzSMRepository/disk1/diskTag.inf
    4. Click OK.
    5. Click OK to close the Preferences > Repositories panel.
  4. On the Installation Manager home page, click Update. The Installation Manager > Update Packages window opens.
  5. Select the WebSphere Application Server software package group in which the security extension is installed, for example, IBM WebSphere Application Server Version 8.5.5.4 or IBM WebSphere Application Server Version 8.0; click Next. The Update Packages > Updates panel opens.
  6. Select the Jazz for Service Management extension for IBM WebSphere WAS_version_number Version 1.1.2.1 check box that is associated with the installed WebSphere Application Server version, WAS_version_number, and click Next. The Update Packages > Licenses panel opens.
  7. Review the license agreement for the software packages as required, and accept the terms, and click Next. The Update Packages > Features panel opens.
  8. Accept the default feature to update, and click Next.
  9. In the Update Packages > Summary panel, review the software package that you want to update and click Update. After Installation Manager updates the fix pack, it displays a message.
