Performing a custom installation on four servers

You can perform the custom installation to install and configure different Jazz™ for Service Management integration services on four servers, database server, enterprise application server, UI server, and reporting server.

You can use the custom installation fast path check lists to verify each step in the custom installation scenario. See Custom installation, four server topology fast path.

Procedure

  1. On the Jazz for Service Management database server, perform the following tasks:
    1. Ensure that you have prepared your database server environment, including setting up DB2®. See Preparing your environment for a custom installation.
    2. If installing Registry Services, create its database. See Database server: Creating the Registry Services database.
  2. On the Jazz for Service Management enterprise application server, perform the following tasks:
    1. Ensure that you have prepared your enterprise server environment. See Preparing your environment for a custom installation.
    2. Install WebSphere® Application Server, if you do have an existing installation. See Application server: Installing WebSphere Application Server.
    3. You must install Jazz for Service Management extension for IBM WebSphere into the WebSphere Application Server installation. See Middleware: Application server: Installing the security extension for WebSphere.
    4. Choose to install one or more Jazz for Service Management integration services. Table 1 summarizes the installation tasks to perform for each integration service on an enterprise application server.
      Tip: Because you might be installing only one integration service, these tasks summarize how to install each integration service individually, in different launchpad or Installation Manager GUI sessions. You can choose to install multiple integration services in a single launchpad or Installation Manager GUI session. See Application and database server: Installing multiple integration services.

  3. On the Jazz for Service Management UI server, perform the following tasks:
    1. Ensure that you have prepared your UI server environment. See Preparing your environment for a custom installation.
    2. Install WebSphere Application Server, if you do have an existing installation. See Application server: Installing WebSphere Application Server.
    3. You must install Jazz for Service Management extension for IBM WebSphere into the WebSphere Application Server installation. See Middleware: Application server: Installing the security extension for WebSphere.
    4. Choose to install one or more Jazz for Service Management integration services. Table 2 summarizes the installation tasks to perform for each integration service on a UI and reporting application server.
      Tip: Because you might be installing only one integration service, these tasks summarize how to install each integration service individually, in different launchpad or Installation Manager GUI sessions. You can choose to install multiple integration services in a single launchpad or Installation Manager GUI session. See Application and database server: Installing multiple integration services.

  4. On the Jazz for Service Management reporting server, perform the following tasks:
    1. Ensure that you have prepared your reporting server environment. See Preparing your environment for a custom installation.
    2. Install WebSphere Application Server, if you do have an existing installation. See Application server: Installing WebSphere Application Server.
    3. You must install Jazz for Service Management extension for IBM WebSphere into the WebSphere Application Server installation. See Middleware: Application server: Installing the security extension for WebSphere.
    4. Create an application serving environment for Tivoli® Common Reporting. See Application server: Creating the reporting services application server profile.
    5. Optional: Install Dashboard Application Services Hub. See Application server: Installing Dashboard Application Services Hub.
    6. Required: Install Administration Services. See Application server: Installing Administration Services.
    7. Install Tivoli Common Reporting.
