IBM Streams 4.2

Launching an application set project

You can launch an application set project in Streams Studio.

About this task

An SPL application set project is used to group and conveniently work with multiple SPL applications together. To launch all applications that are contained by an SPL application project, follow this procedure:

Procedure

  1. Select an SPL application set project from the Project Explorer view.
  2. Right-click it and select Launch Applications from the menu.

The Launch Applications option locates all launch configurations that are associated with the selected application set project. If no launch configuration can be found, then a new launch configuration is created. The generated launch configuration uses the selected project's name as the name of the launch configuration.

If the Always Prompt option is enabled in the launch configuration, you are presented with the Launch Configuration window, which you use to change the launch options before launching. For distributed applications, specify a job configuration overlay file that contains configuration options to run the application. If you change options, you must save them when prompted. If you do not save them, the launch proceeds with the previous values. The changes are saved in the launch configuration. If this option is disabled, then you are presented only with the Launch Configuration window if the launch configuration contains errors.

If a launch configuration exists, the launch configuration is used to launch the SPL application set project.

You can find information about the launch from the Streams Studio Console in the Console view.
