Adding governance catalogs to Streams Explorer

Use governance catalogs to provide information governance for your Streams applications.

Before you begin

Streams supports IBM InfoSphere® Information Governance Catalog Version 11.3 and Version 11.5. Before you can work with a governance catalog in Streams, you must import the Streams custom asset types into the catalog. You can find the bundle of custom asset types in the StreamsIGCAssetDefinitions.zip file in the product-installation-root-directory/4.2.0.0/etc/governance directory. Use the InfoSphere Information Governance Catalog REST API POST method to insert the Streams asset types into the catalog.

About this task

To be able to access the assets in an InfoSphere Information Governance Catalog, you must add the catalog to the Streams Explorer view in Streams Studio.

Procedure

To add a governance catalog:

In the Streams Explorer view, right-click Governance Catalogs and click Add Catalog.
In the Add Catalog window, specify a catalog name and the URL of the InfoSphere Information Governance Catalog installation.
