You can export a knowledge base as a KB file
and later import it back into the IBM® Content
Classification server. If your knowledge
base has associated learning data, you can export it along with the
knowledge base.
About this task
For example, you might want to export the knowledge base
and use Content Classification to
improve its performance. After you improve the knowledge base, you
can import the KB file back to the server.
To export a knowledge
base:
Procedure
- Ensure that the knowledge base that you want to export
is started.
- In the console tree, select Knowledge bases.
- In the list view on the right, right-click the knowledge
base that you want to export, and select Export knowledge
base.
- Select one of the following export options.
- Export the file to the Management Console computer
- Select this option to export small knowledge base files (up to
30 MB in size). Larger files can take a long time and might not be
processed before time limits expire. You can also select this option
when the Content Classification server
does not have network access to the target location for the knowledge
base file.
-
- Export the file to the Data Server computer
- Select this option if you are exporting a large knowledge base
file. The Content Classification server
creates the file at the location you specify. If the target location
is on a different computer, ensure that the Content Classification server has write access
to the target location. The network path that you specify must be
relative to the Content Classification server.
- If your knowledge base was configured to accumulate learning
data, you can export the learning data with the knowledge base file
by selecting the Export the learning data (SARC file) associated
with this knowledge base option. The learning data is
exported as a SARC file to the same directory as the KB file.
