Adding a knowledge base

You can use the Management Console to create an empty, untrained knowledge base or import a knowledge base file (.kb file), such as one that was created with Classification Workbench.

About this task

New knowledge bases must be added to the IBM® Content Classification server and started before you can use the knowledge bases to classify content.

To add a knowledge base:

Procedure

  1. In the console tree, right-click Knowledge bases and select Add knowledge base.
  2. In the Add Knowledge Base window, use one of the following methods to add the knowledge base file:
    • Select Add an empty knowledge base if you plan to train a new knowledge base programmatically.
    • Select Import a knowledge base (KB file) to import a knowledge base that was created in Classification Workbench. In Classification Workbench, the default path for knowledge base files is Classification_Home\Classification Workbench\Projects_Unicode\project_name\project_name.kb, where project_name is the name that was given to the knowledge base project.
