Upgrade Rational Integration Tester Agent
In general, you can upgrade from earlier versions of IBM® Rational® Integration Tester Agent to
the most recent version without having to uninstall the software.
Use the IBM Installation Manager Update
option to upgrade the software.
Before upgrading
Before you upgrade Rational Integration Tester
Agent,
you must stop the service. For information about stopping the service,
see Running agents.
Note: You cannot directly upgrade Rational Integration Tester
Agent from
any of the earlier versions to 8.7. You must uninstall the existing
version and then install the version 8.7. For more information, see Installing the product software
Preserving the configuration file
Upgrading the Rational Integration Tester Agent software overwrites the Agent.config file in your existing Rational Integration Tester Agent installation. If there are settings in the Agent.config file that must be preserved, for example, IBM Rational Test Control Panel domains and environments settings, copy the existing Agent.config file to a temporary location before upgrading. After the upgrade of the software has completed, overwrite the new Agent.config file with the old Agent.config file.
