Installing and configuring the Compiled Language Interception Processor (CLIP)

You need the Compiled Language Interception Processor (CLIP) agent to record and virtualize DB2® activity in COBOL/PL/I applications on z/OS® systems.

About this task

Install the CLIP agent so that you can record and virtualize CICS® COBOL/PL/I DB2 programs on z/OS. The CLIP agent consists of two components:
  • The CLIP agent front-end, running on Windows.
  • The CLIP agent back-end (probe), running on z/OS systems.
With both components active, you can use Rational® Integration Tester to record and virtualize DB2 activity in COBOL/PL/I applications on z/OS.

Procedure

Download the tools component named Rational Integration Tester agents for DB2 on z/OS.
  1. Go to the Tools link of Rational Test Control Panel and download Rational Integration Tester agents for DB2 on z/OS.
  2. Extract the contents of IBMDB2ForZOS.zip to a temporary folder on a Windows workstation.
