To upgrade the CICS® Transaction
Server (TS) agent, you install the new version in a similar manner
to the original version.
Procedure
Follow these steps for the exit and manager programs:
- Stop the RITAGENT batch service by using the command /F
RITAGENT,STOP in SDSF.
- Stop the CICS region.
- Transfer the new XMIT files by FTP to the z/OS® system. For instructions, see Installing the CICS Transaction Server agent on z/OS.
- Delete the existing RIT.CICS.PROC, RIT.CICS.LOAD,
and RIT.CICS.LOADLIB data sets.
- Use TSO receive to unpack the new agent.

- Follow the instructions in the RIT.CICS.PROC(README) file
to configure the new CICS agent.
- Start the CICS region
and RITAGENT.
